World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Upgrades to items allow players to boost the gear score of an item up to 700, and then add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their unique stats. (For instance, a perfectly rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons don't really change after an upgrade and aren't worth the cost.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit chance, and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also have a flat bonus that increases their damage per second. In addition, many weapons have a set bonus that activates when three or more of the same weapon is present on a single unit. In some cases this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage that a weapon upgrades by itself.
The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For example, an +2 weapon will require two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue increase until it is required to use a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons can also change the stats of their base. While this is generally beneficial but it can also have negative consequences too. In the case of items that are only used in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance) upgrading them could make them unusable unless you happen to have an extremely lucky roll.
The ability to upgrade armor items to boost their performance. For item upgrading , if you upgrade a helm or chest, this will increase its base defense while gloves and belts enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor has a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it may roll down to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats it will gain upon upgrading, along with the relative values of those stats. This means that the weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will be hit three times less, since it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button on the item menu, using the circling arrows. This will reroll the item and change its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level or tie it to the account status.
Armor
Making a few improvements to your armor can make a a huge difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets provide massive increases in poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, which can make traversing tough areas a breeze. In general, the greater defense you have for your character, the greater health you will gain from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four in total each of which requires you to complete a unique side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed your main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels, and the amount of materials and Rupees required for each level will differ. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. For example the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a good-sized group of enemies in the majority of cold environments and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, granting you enough protection to withstand the full-on assault with a few friends.
You can't upgrade armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor for physical strength or the power of spells. It's also a good idea to save your armor upgrades for armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you use for the final boss battle as well as the Monter Parts merchant's mask.
You can also gain advantages to your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally, you'll want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to beat the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be beneficial to have a few improvements to the chest armor and helmets that let you stealthy battle certain monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that, when consumed by the participant, produce the player with a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five types of potions, each having a specific set of effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded, enhancing their level of effect. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.
Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP, which can be earned by crafting them on a table or the chest of the Alchemist. However, the cost of upgrading will vary based on the type of potion you'd like to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level and rarity.
To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI in which you can select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll yield when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at a time, and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.
Once a potion is upgraded, it will not degrade unless you use it again or break the bottle in the container it is kept. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to rename it.
There were some changes to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. For example splash potions now have an average duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the equivalent of 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item). The table for potion can now be crafted with four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can now be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions cannot be combined in cauldrons. The same is true for using a potion within an empty cauldron. This will deplete the potion and refill the bottle.
There are also simmering potions made using dragon breath and splash potions. Similar to lingering potions, the effect can be extended by adding redstone to it. The potion table is now laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were added, such as the potion of leaping and the decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket can be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece jewelry. It can also refer to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a purpose but isn't particularly significant, such as a tiny thimble. In some cultures, a trinket can be used to express friendship or affection between family members.
In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. They can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Trinkets, unlike other items that can be upgraded can be exchanged at any time without losing statistics.
Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available using tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.
Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to buying a brand new trinket. It can be done by the player for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl as the older one, and include an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
Trinkets can be upgraded once they are not needed which allows a player to increase their power and worth over time. They can be traded among players which makes them a good alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are upgraded first then their secondary gear and other equipment that they won't be replacing anytime soon (such as rings or cloaks). When deciding on the items to upgrade, players must also consider the preferred statistics of their class. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to tank players, then they should upgrade their helm, chest and shoulders.
Once they have become useless trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket has an additional bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade can destroy the old trinket, unless it is salvaged using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still cheaper than purchasing a new one.
